Meet Kawika Cahill, chef, culinary artist & founder of 808 Fusion. Embracing the spirit of aloha, Kawika’s creations fuses traditional island ingredients with a modern twist, taking taste buds on a tropical journey.

Kawika’s Bio:
Born & raised on Oahu. Between being inspired by Anthony Bourdain & earning a Culinary Arts degree from Kapiolani Community College, Kawika dedicated his career to kitchen excellence.

When he's not in the kitchen, you’ll find Kawika catching waves at Sandy’s Beach, drawing inspiration from the ocean’s rhythm, hosting BBQ’s & cruising the island with his wife & friends.

Passion for Island Fusion: From sizzling surf & turf to delightful poke bowls, each dish Kawika creates reflects the essence of Hawaii’s rich culinary heritage. Kawika’s passion for cooking shines through in his catering events hosted throughout the island, as well as his weekly meal prep offerings. He prides himself on delighting people with his menus. Taste aloha in every bite!

Life of a chef

Chef Veeks was mentored by & worked alongside many top chefs, such as Hiroshi Fukui & Roy Yamaguchi, Donato Loperfido, Marc Freiberg.

Over the past 25 years he’s cheffed at Roy’s, Michelle’s at the Surf Colony, Donato’s, Stage Restaurant, L’uraku, Formaggio’s, 53 by the Sea, Kincade’s San Francisco, Pearl & M Night Clubs, Sarento’s at the top of Ilikai, Aaron’s atop the Ala Moana Hotel.

In addition to cooking at Honolulu’s premier dining spots, Chef Veeks has collaborated with restaurants to design their kitchens, write custom menus & train cooks under professional chefs to replicate his signature style!
